Faith Formation After School
Grades One through Eight

In the after school program we offer a variety of ways in which our children can learn of the richness of the Catholic faith and hopefully come to a deeper understanding of God in their life as they strive to develop a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit.
Using the basal text Faith First by RCL/Benziger as a spring board to our learning and sharing faith we make available to our Catechists a variety of resources in which to teach their sessions. Many take advantage of the online material made available through the publisher to enrich their lessons. This may be in extra crafts, games, and/or a visit to the school Technology room to do an online activity individually or together as a class.
We also encourage Catechists to use the prayer room in the lower level of the school or to take their young people to the church if that will enhance the theme of the week.
To develop a sense of community among the children we meet occasionally throughout the year for prayer as a group – especially during Advent and Lent. Many of our prayer services offer a chance for the children to actively participate as lectors, readers, etc.
Every year we offer a Communal Reconciliation Service with private confession and absolution for young people grades three through eight as well as a mass during a regular session (In January or at the end of the year) that is hosted by our young people.
