Our Lady of Victory Catholic School administers the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) to all students in grades 2 through 8
on an annual basis. Testing takes place in October and this Fall testing schedule allows the administration and faculty to
effectively use the test results as diagnostic information used to support instructional decisions.
The effectiveness of an educational program is not judged solely on the basis of standardized test results. Measured performance
is affected by the cumulative effect of instruction as well as by a number of out-of-school factors including student attendance,
motivation for learning, family socio-economic level, and parental support of academic achievement.
The school averages for the ITBS given in Fall 2010 are reported as Reading (75th %tile), Mathematics (76th %tile), and Language
(76th %tile). It is important to understand that the performance of the average student nationally is at the 50th percentile.
At every grade level the students at Our Lady of Victory scored above that of their counterparts nationally. We are proud of the
achievements of our students.
