Summer Reading

 Our goal for summer reading is to introduce your child to authors and stories that they will enjoy and make them want to go back for more. Grades 6-8 will read two books, one fiction and one non-fiction from the list provided.  A graphic organizer will be completed for the nonfiction and a book review will be written for the fiction book. (Directions are provided, this must be typed.)  Both papers will be turned into their homeroom teacher.  A grade will be given for both papers in Reading.  This will also be due on August 28, 2013

 Your child may read more books either from the list or of their own choosing.  We encourage all of our students to read all the time.  Studies show that children who read more, build vocabulary, have better scores in comprehension, and become better writers.  Here at OLV we want our students to be the best that they can be!
