We congratulate new parents and rejoice with those who wish to baptize their child. Baptism is the public celebration of the beginning of life in the Church. At the celebration of Infant Baptism, parents publicly affirm their decision to raise their children in the faith. As a public affirmation celebrated within community, we ask that families refrain from requesting “private” baptisms.
The process of preparing for a child's Baptism includes several steps, including sacramental preparation, and the completion of necessary paperwork; which includes a copy of the birth certificate. At the completion of all steps, the date of the Baptism will be scheduled. We encourage parents to begin the process before the birth of their child.
Call the Parish Office to register for the Baptism Preparation and Formation class which is typically held the first Sunday of the month. Baptisms for infants and children (through age six) are typically celebrated on the third and fourth Sunday of the month, following the 11:30 a.m. Mass. There are no Baptisms during Lent.
To have your child baptized at Our Lady of Victory, parents must be registered and active in the life of the Parish. Older children and youth are invited to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children. Please call the Parish Office for more information.
