For St. Dominic’s Outreach Center
We are collecting pre-made, wrapped in cellophane Boy or Girl (ages 3-12) Easter Baskets for St. Dominic’s Outreach Center. We are hoping to collect 100 baskets (50 girl and 50 boy). Please return your filled basket to the crate found in the Gathering Space. Ideas for a basket; puzzles, books, sidewalk chalk, silly putty, play dough, water bottle, outside games, sport equipment, art supplies, small figurines, matchbox cars, jump rope and candy are just a few suggestions if you would like to put a basket together yourself.
Please consider donating new or cleaned but gently used First Communion dresses, veils, suits, ties, socks (boys / girls) and shoes for children in Detroit area parishes who would otherwise go without. Many parents are struggling financially and purchasing such items can be almost impossible. If purchasing new items, please consider sizes 8, 10 or 12 or consider purchasing a DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) to purchase shoes. The need is great.
All outfits can be hung on the clothing rack in the Gathering Space.
Wee care provides help to women and their babies when other organizations or public agencies cannot meet their needs. Over 600 families are helped each year because of your generosity. During Lent, let’s show how much we care by picking up a colored egg in the Gathering Space. Each egg contains a needed basic baby item to purchase. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please make checks payable to LIFESPAN Wee Care and drop off at the Parish Office or place in the collection depository found in the Gathering Space and at the Thayer Door. Needed items for this year include:
St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) owns and operates a free summer camp program for qualifying boys and girls, ages 8-14. Camp Ozanam has served over 119,000 children since 1923 and is located on the shores of Lake Huron. There is a special “Loving Arms” camp for those children dealing with the loss of a family member. Camp Oz is a great place for campers to pray, ponder and play!
It costs an average of $500 per camper to operate Camp Ozanam. The camp can handle many more children but lacks the funds. With your help, last year we were able to send 6 Children to camp! We are once again asking for your prayerful consideration. Your continued donations will allow more Children to benefit from the Camp OZ experience. Thank you. Please make checks payable to St. Vincent de Paul, Memo line: Camp Ozanam, www.svdpdet.org/need-help/camp.

Is a ministry founded by Fr. Ralph Beiting in 1962 and serves the people of Appalachia. Far too many children, their families, and seniors in Appalachia live in desperation. No matter how hard they work, they have trouble escaping poverty, hunger, and fear that have held their family’s captive for generations. You can help provide essential services that transform lives. Through Hunger & Poverty Relief, Child Family Development and Disaster and Elderly Services, CAP helps build hope, while sharing Christ’s love. Much of CAP’s services come from volunteers. Our Lady of Victory Teens along with Deacon Ric and Colleen Misiak have been among the volunteers who have served throughout the years. Please make checks payable to Christian Appalachian Project. OLV along with First United Methodist Church and other churches are still providing food and necessities for the guests during Hospitality Week! This interfaith rotating shelter, run by Cass Community Social Services, was started in 1988 because of the need for additional food and shelter for the homeless during the winter months. This year, we are asking for donations of New Socks and Underclothes for 39 women and 15 men:
(If possible, please attach a gift receipt, in case they need a different size!)
Thank you for your continued generosity!
Please drop-off your donation either at the Parish Office or at Mass by February 26.
